Police consider Jonathan Bettez as the main suspect in the disappearance and death of nine-year old Cédrika Provencher.
$10-million lawsuit filed against the provincial police and Quebec's attorney general.
Bettez and his parents claim the SQ and attorney general destroyed their reputations and harmed the family's business when it was revealed Bettez was a suspect.
Bettez became a suspect in Cédrika's disappearance early in the investigation based on eyewitness accounts of a man who claimed to be looking for his dog and who interacted with the girl before she disappeared.
In a document filed in the lawsuit, Sûreté du Québec investigator wrote Bettez is still considered to be the main suspect in the probe.

The body of Cédrika Provencher, who has been missing since July 31, 2007, has been found in Saint-Maurice, near Trois-Rivières, QC.
On Friday afternoon, December 11, 2015, human remains were found by passersby in a forest on the edge of Hwy. 40 East in Saint-Maurice, The Sûreté du Québec, Quebec provincial police said.
Cédrika's family was informed on Saturday. On Sunday, Cédrika's father, Martin Provencher, thanked the public for their help in the search for his daughter.
Despite a large reward and several suspects being questioned over the years, no arrests have been made.
For now, there are no arrests but the investigation is continuing, police said.

Trois-Rivières, Quebec — Cédrika Provencher was declared "missing" on July 31, 2007 (but some media already believed that she was kidnapped), and "likely abducted" 72 hours later.
Despite the offer of a reward, her whereabouts remained unknown.
Early in the search, witnesses reported her asking for help finding a man's lost dog. Four other girls also came forward to report that a stranger had asked for their help tracking down a dog.

She cycled around the area, knocking on doors and asking residents if they had seen the dog.
She was seen emerging from a wooded area with a friend, closely followed by a man. She was then seen on her bike in a local park and on various nearby streets. At 8:30 pm, her bicycle was found leaning against a fire hydrant on the corner of streets Chabanel and Chapais.
On August 2, 2007, 72 hours later, municipal officers suggested that she had been abducted, even though it was already known since day one that a man asked her about a dog.
Cédrika's disappearance caused a shockwave that went beyond the borders of Quebec.
In June 2014, the production of an investigative documentary on Cédrika's story was announced. Director Stéphan Parent said he wanted to reopen the investigation into her disappearance.
